Hello Mads

I know it must be very scary to hear that you need such surgery and especially in this location.  But the good news is that Mohs surgery is a very effective treatment for such skin cancers.  This surgery can prevent structural damage to your eyes.

We have a ton of information about Mohs surgery here on SkinCancerConnection that you may want to read:

Questions to Ask Your Doctor about Mohs Surgery

What You Need to Know about Mohs Surgery

I also did an interview with a patient who has had Mohs surgery so you can read about what to expect from the procedure.

The Skin Cancer Foundation also has information about what it is like to have Mohs surgery done near the eye area.

If you need emotional support...we are here for you.  I wish you the best of luck with your procedure.  Please let us know how things go okay?

Hi all, had my surgery done on June 1st.

It was not as bad as I feared ,felt the first lil'prick then nothing.

It was the thought of them cutting so close to my eye/nose that scared me the most.( Inner canthus i think they called it )?

I had to have 3 sweeps and a skin graft fron in front of my ear (16 stitches)

the donor site was sore but is healing well now  and the graft looks to be taking .

My eye is smaller than the other one but hopefully with time this will improve

Still a shock when i look in the mirror but trying to be positive.

i have to have Mohs done under my left eye ,this is to be done in october .seems a long time to wait but i'm sure the doctors know best

thanks for the support
