Quick 'Sunbaths' Give Enough Vitamin D: Study

Scientists in Great Britain say a few minutes a day of mid-day summer sun is enough to give fair-skinned people a sufficient--if not optimal--level of vitamin D. The skin produces vitamin D when it's exposed to ultraviolet B radiation in sunlight. The body's own vitamin D is its main source for the nutrient, since it is scarce in most foods.  Read full story >
