Redheads More Likely to Have Skin Cancer Recurrence

Redhaired people are more at risk for a recurrence of basal cell carcinoma--the most common type of skin cancer, experts say. Dutch researchers also found that people who had a higher education and income and those who were diagnosed with skin cancer at a young age were also at higher risk. Researchers say people with higher education and income likely spend more time vacationing in the sun, which may explain their increased risk.
