That poem describes what I meant in my comment on, Children and Psoriasis. It is so honest, it needs more exposure, the pain behind it, than a forum with other sufferers can give.
It needs to be, in our face.
Even some doctors, as the poem says will not look. I think the worst thing for doctors is to be confronted with something they can't heal. For just ordinary people, to be confronted with something they don't understand.
Pain is only understood when you have it, or have had the exact same condition. I've seen the thought that no one understands our pain put forth by so many of us, all my life, and as far as pain, we only comprehend our own and project as much as we can toward another. It doesn't work well.
Exposure, of the condition, it's causes, what it is, why it is, and exposure of the pain endured helps others to comprehend what another is going through. Maybe instead of covering it up, it should be visible to everyone, even if just on that day; would I have the courage to face the looks and perhaps unthinking comments of others? It's not just Psoriasis that we hide.
