Myths indeed. I too went through well meaning friends and relative's advice, if they had any. They are all myths and a good dermatologist is the best answer to dealing with Acne. Too bad I found that out in my Forties.

 

Wash your face. What's the old saying? If I had a nickel for every time... 

I would be rich!

 

Now I suspect my parents, chocolate lovers both, told me to stay away from chocolate not necessarily with my welfare in mind! I'll always wonder.

 

Thing is, if a young person finds their face ravaged seemingly overnight, this hard won knowledge you impart can be the difference in keeping the damage to skin and self esteem at a minimum. Nothing worked for me until I went to a dermatologist about something else and offhandedly asked about something for pimples I was still getting, and after that... gone. As long as I use what was prescribed, no more problem.

 

Do see about getting help. You've given the best advice for most young, and older, people.
