    Hello Dr. Berman

I checked out a couple of Moisturizers at random

Cetaphil ® Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 is rated 4 Medium Hazard  on the Skin Deep Database at a price of 4 oz. for $11.00 and Ultra Facial Moistuirzer SPF 14 Kiehls' is Rated 7 High Hazard at a price 4 oz. $29.00 which seem pretty pricy to me.

The basic ingredients in sunscreen are simple enough and are readily available, zinc oxide, carrier oils - olive oil , jojoba oil, coconut oil cocoa butter, and shea butter. You might want to add essential oils to your sunscreen but be sure that you do not add oils which are photo toxic i. e Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, etc..

Before doing any shopping I always check the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Database www.cosmeticsdatabase.com for ratings. If you are shopping for sunscreen there are 952 sunscreens listed, but only five brands of sunscreen listed with an overall score of 0 (the best possible rating),  You can also check out the moisturizers too.

There are a lot of recipes out there on the internet, you can easily make your own sunscreen and save money too!
