Thank you for this. I am currently undergoing treatment for AK using Efudex. I have been using makeup with sunscreen for over ten years which is why I think my facial AK situation is not as bad as many. (I am 65, raised on the beaches of LA, so should have a lot more lesions than I have.) I prefer the mineral makeups that are available right now so it is very helpful for this article to have addressed the sunscreen potential of those products. I would agree the way to go is as many layers of sunscreen as one can reasonably apply and a good wide-brimmed hat. I also used the SPF 50 products formulated for children for when I am out rafting on the river I live on. Hats don't do much good on the river since much of the damage comes up under the hat when the sun reflects up off the water.

I do not believe that sunscreen is enough. Yes you are protecting your face but you are still applying chemicals to your face. We need more people to inspire others to make a difference in the world and remain organic and green. Most of the top celebs are turning to organic lip gloss because they have found that chemical lip gloss does not hold its shine as well as organic. Why add unnecessary chemicals to your skin when you do not have to? Organic lipstick is the way to go to make sure that you look good while remaining healthy. Changing your make up to organic will allow you to give back to the earth! be responsible.. Be green
