Not Botox: Smoothing Away the Wrinkles

Let's start be agreeing that wrinkles aren't necessarily "bad." I loved my grandmother's wrinkles. I loved how the lines etched into her face showed off the depth of her life's experiences. A few wrinkles for each of her five children, another few for each of her twelve gran...

Products that claim to be topical "muscle relaxers" do not have much research backing their claim; if it really did what it claimed, your face would probably sag assuming you're suppose to spread it over your entire face.  It is better to stick with anti aging products that have research backing them up such as niacinamide, vitamin C, and tretinoin.

I've tried several products and the only one that has worked for me is Beauty Society Poker Face.  It naturally relaxes  your facial muscles and it's a miracle.  All of my friends and co-workers use it.  Find it here.http://www.alaina.skincaresociety.com

3 years ago, when this article was published, Botox was quoted at being $200-300. However, the industry standard is for clinics to sell by the unit, rather than by the syringe. The typical price is $12/unit today in Canada, as is the price at this clinic: http://www.tcclinic.com/botox-injection-toronto.php

I don't think much has changed in terms of price over these 3 years.

I think selling Botox and Dysport by the unit is a much more fair way to sell. A 30 something woman with the beginings of lines will use much less than a 50 something guy with lines like the grand canyon. At my mobile spa I go to people's homes and offices and do the injections for $10 per unit. I don't price gouge and always start with the lowest amount I think will work when I see the muscle in action. Why do I do this? Less units means less cost for my clients so they are happier. If I need to go back and put a little more in the first time I treat the client still pays for this, but it is often still less than if they go to some other spa. Plus the client often ends up with some slight movement which keeps them from having the frozen look. Unless that is what they want.

Just because I can put 30 units into a glabella doesn't mean it's the best thing to do. Using less product might have an added benefit of not allowing the body to create antibodies agianst the botox making it usless over time. Just a thought.

I'm soon undergoing botox in Austin, Texas, at Cadiz Laser Spa, which I really enjoy. I worked with their staff to figure out which treatment was right for me, and they were very helpful through the whole process. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.
