How to Reverse Signs of Aging

By healthgal, Health Pro Monday, August 01, 2011
One of the areas of the face that can show the earliest signs of aging is the upper and lower eyelids.  You may have an upper lid that is just beginning to sag or look hooded, or a lower lid developing slight bagginess, uneven pigmentation that appears, or pronounced creases on the outer corners...

Hey Health Gal!

Thanks for writing this...as a woman in her mid forties...of course I am interested in this topic.  I am wondering if you have had any of these procedures done yourself and what they are like.  And the topical remedies involving Retin...are there any precautions about possible side effects we need to worry about?

Looking forward to reading more from you...

Ancient approaches for aging gracefully

Traditional Chinese medicine views aging as a natural part of the life cycle, yet it also values the role that herbs can play in allowing the body to age gently and in harmony with nature. In the case of aging skin, this philosophy contrasts to the invasive approach taken by allopathic (Western) practitioners, who typically rely upon aggressive substances and methods such as Botox and surgery and to stretch and manipulate aging skin for cosmetic purposes.

The Chinese approach views premature aging of the skin as a sign of insufficient circulation. To nurture beautiful skin that's bright, smooth, and blemish-free, Chinese practitioners have long drawn upon herbs that act as blood tonics, which increase blood circulation and help augment delivery of necessary nutrients to the skin. It's a perspective that recognizes the way in which aging happens from the inside out.
