Hi there
Did your doctor give any indication of what she thought this might be? Is it spreading to any other areas of your face or body? Was this your general practitioner you saw?
This sounds like a logical course of action but if you are wanting answers sooner you could schedule an appointment with a dermatologist who might know better what this is. Nobody on the Internet could tell you what you have or how to treat it and especially without seeing the lesion. It could be anything from eczema to a skin infection.
This particular medication is sometimes used to treat impetigo.
I hope you find your answer soon. Let us know what you find out if you can. Thank you for your question.
