Q: 3 yr. old has tender red bumps on toes and fingers. What could these be?

He had been playing outside in a sandbox, trampoline and grass barefoot.  He doesn't seem bothered unless they are pressed.  The bumps vary in size and are spread lightly over the tops of his feet and more concentrated inbetween his toes.  His fingers and hands have a few as well.  I didn't notice the bumps the night before, but this morning they are prevelant.  What could they be?
