Q: I have a patch of skin on my cheek area that is dry. Is this from aging?

I also notice the area is red.  I put moisteriser on at night.  I am 35 years old.  Should I be using olive oil?

Hi Jen

Please know I am not a dermatologist.

I would not think that this patch of dry skin would be due to aging.  Since it is red...I am wondering if you have some eczema.  And moisturizer alone won't help much if it is this.  I have written an article about adult eczema that you might want to read.  You may want to try some over the counter cortizone cream to see if that helps.

But your best bet is to ask your doctor or dermatologist about this to see what is the cause of your dry red patch of skin.

Hope this helps some.  Thank you for your question.
