I took amoxiclav for strep throat for 10 days. During which I broke out in measle looking bumps all over my body. They almost went away and now I have what looks more like a poison oak rash from my feet to my neck. The itching is intense! Could this happen from taking the amoxiclav?

Hi Jen,

Thank you for your question. Antibiotics are known to cause allergic reactions, which this may be. This could indicate a serious allergy, and you should discuss with your doctor any symptoms that you may have experienced. You may also want to check out our Allergy Symptoms page.

Best of luck,

Casey
