how long does sun poisoning last?

i work in the sun as a lifeguard and as a water instructor, i had really bad sunburn last thursday and i still have it after more then a week, the skin on my leg peeled off in big chunks and my bosses think that i have a third degree burn by my suite line, but i dont have a fever as far and i feel fine, the skin on my like is still peeling and im in a lot of pain could this been sun poisoning?
