I notice that you have not covered Vitiligo which is also a skin condition connected with one's auto immune system. Would you be able to provide me with some answers to my questions on this condition please? If so, I would like to know how can it be controlled, what can one do about extreme dryness and itchiness caused due to receiving UVB treatment and which is the best moisturiser and sun block to use before and after the treatment. I would be grateful if you would kindly supply me with answers to these questions.

Many thanks.

Nina

Hi Nina,

I have just posted an article regarding vitiligo and some common courses of treatment. As for side effects, it's common to experience itching on the faded patches. If the itching is troublesome, ask your doctor if he or she can recommend a safe anti-itch cream for your particular case. In terms of dryness, stick with fragrance free moisturizers in order to avoid any further irritation to the skin.

Best,

Sue
