Q: Want info ona contagious rash that my son thinks is called "freed" .Serious to pg women & elderly.

Our grandson has a contagious rash that my son thinks is called "freed" or something like that. It is not serious to our grandson but can be serious for pregnant women and elderly (but the doc didn't specify what elderly is). We are 65 and are concerned, therefore I would like some info on this rash or the correct name for it so I can discuss it with my doc. Thank you
