Q: My skin has lost the ability to stretch

My skin has lost the ability to stretch. It's not all stretched out and floppy, it just won't stretch any more. I'm 65, and I'm not worried about looks or anything like that. It's other problems. I can hardly get my mouth open wide enough to get my partial plate in. Other areas on my body the skin has become so tight movement is difficult. Nothing looks odd or different. I have no strange illnesses I know of. High blood pressure, Cholesterol, but they are under control. The only odd thing I know of is I don't have a Pituitary Gland. Lost that in Vietnam but I take artificial growth hormone to take care of that. I was wounded several times but I've been okay up till now. I'm not overweight and in good shape muscle wise. This is affecting over half my body and it's really starting to bother me.  Anyone have any ideas? I'm being shuffled off by the doctors with an "It's all in my mind" routine. It's even affecting my sex life and that gone far enough!

You have a calcification of some sort.  Probably caused from a bad circulatory disease..  I'm in the same boat with you.

I've seen an endrocronoligist and a dermotoligist to go along with a nurologist and an internal meds type and none of them have even the remotest idea of what it might be. One of the first things they checked was for some kind of over calcification anywhere in my body. If anything I am actually low on calcuim in my right hip by something like 40%. My cardiologist has done all the sonograms in the world checking my circulation and he says it is fine. I have some of the best he's seen. That's not surprising as I'm a retired Navy SEAL and have always been in very good shape.

My joints all move freely, X-rays show nothing involved in blockiing anything. I can't have an MRI because of metal fragments in my body (from Vietnam) and a computer mounted in my back that is tied into my spinal cord. This non-stretcheness is just in the skin itself.

If you ever find out anything concrete (no pun intended) about what this might be, I sure would appreciate hearing from you.
