Q: My boyfriend has sunburn & is peeling on his shoulders & upper back. He has 3 spots that looks like bumps that are yellow & alittle puss. Does he have sun poisoning? What should we do for it?

The 3 spots are yellowish looking, and around it, it is red. They sorta looks like its bumps, but I can't really tell because of all the yellowish color on it. (it looks very nasty!) But he is peeling all over them. Do you think this is sun poising? Is there anything we can do or put on it? (We did put some peroxide on it and it just bubbled up whiter)

Hi there

How is your boyfriend doing now?  The bumps could be anything from acne to a cyst to some sort of infection.  Sun poisoning usually has other flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, nausea, and dehydration.

Please know that I am not a doctor or dermatologist.  In this case it would be wise to seek guidance from a doctor.  I would not put anything on it until you know what you are dealing with but do keep the skin area clean.

Let us know how he is doing.  I hope he feels better by now.  Thank you for your question.
