Q: Drug reaction

I have never had "issues" with sun poisoning, but recently while in Mexico, my calves and to a lesser extent, my thighs, developed a bunch of small red splotches. These do not itch and are not raised. The "rash" is not uniform meaning I have nothing on my knees, but strong concentrations on my calves, the outside of my shins down to my ankles and less on the thighs. I take diovan, Lipitor, ranitidine and Nexium. Might one or a combination of these drugs triggered the sun poisoning?

Hi Gary

How long have you had this? Here is some information about sun poisoning.  I had sun poisoning once and I knew it because I had fever, chills, I was sick to my stomach and skin was blistered.  Have you had any of these symptoms?  Is your skin painful to the touch?

I would strongly suggest that you make an appointment with your doctor to get this checked out.  As far as the medications go...this is a good question for your doctor or pharmacist.  They are going to know what the possible side effects to these meds are.

Sorry I cannot be of more help.  Thank you for your question.
