Are there any skin peels that help reverse skin lightening and its negative side effects?

I used to have picture perfect skin. But then, I got this huge black mark on my elbows. So, I tried this lightening product for a while and it made my skin white instead of evening it out! A bigger shocker? It was a prescription my derm recommended for me! I used it exactly as she said and it made my skin white. Crayon white. The negative side effects I am now suffering are skin turning WHITE and not one shade lighter. Also, blackheads, white heads, and these weird hard bumps on my back, legs, and thighs. I just want my skin to go back to being its natural Japense/British beige skin tone and color that it was before and I have heard in some places that peels work to reverse skin lightening. So, do they work? Which type and brand should I use?

Unfortunately I am not aware of reversal processes for unintended skin lightening.  There may be some laser options that i am not familiar with so you may need to get a few opinions from some established dermatologists.
