I got sunburned (yea I know I should have had on sunscreen) on Tuesday.  Yesterday (Wednesday) my eyelids started to swell and when I got up today (Thursday) my face is severly swollen.  It looks like I got beat up.  Is this sunpoisoning?  Or what?  How can I relieve the swelling?

Hi I went to Morrocco when I was very young and  I had the same symptons as you. Last year I was on holiday and it happened again. I had severe swelling of the face and eyelids.  I could not go out in the sun and had to have steroid injections and clairtyn tablets from the hotel doctor. I have no idea why this happened. It took me a week to get better. I know you posted your question last month but I am going abroad in two weeks time and wondered if you could shed any light on the matter.

Sorry about that... i pressed enter by mistake.

I fell asleep on the beach on July 09th and awoke on the 11th with severe edema around my eyes and nose.  Today it was even worse.  It seems to be the same reaction you had.  Can you tell me if the problem has resolved itself and how long it took for the skin to return to normal?  Also, did you go to a doctor, and what did he prescribe as treatment?

I've had some relief from tea compresses and aloe, but the swelling is not getting better.

      Thanks for your help
