I take hydro condone immediate release which does not have any Tylenol in it, I have been on pain meds for years and have NEVER HAD TO INCREASE MY DOSE as I don't want to be considered an addict and they consider me to,be compliant. I have ms, fibromyalgia, diverticulitis, and most recently degenerative disk disease and I just turn 48, I am always tired and always in pain. Every once in awhile I have pain so bad that I have to go to the ER. Now even though they know I am truly sick, if i am not admitted, they try to offer me codeine or OxyContin even though its on my list of medications that I take. I know they are trying to trick me and see if I will take it so they can label me a drug seeker but I always decline saying I have this at home and don't need more of it..thank you. It is only at that point that they start to believe me and 9 times out of 10, I get admitted for a few days for pain relief. This shouldn't happen to anyone...ever. There are clear signs of a true drug seeker and because of those few, people like us have to endure the same treatment time and time Again. Drs, nurses, emergency rooms etc need classes on compassion and need to be reminded of their Hippocratic Oath......first do no harm. I am so sorry anyone has to go through any of this. If you are in he medical profession and reading this, let me make a suggestion, next time you treat someone where you even suspect they are a drug seeker, a) put yourself in their shoes b) treat them as if they were your mother or father or one of your children. Give them the benefit of doubt and treat them for what they are there for at that time and not judge them off of previous visits. I will tell you why, because people like myself and others on this site will one day have a very serious medical problem and they won't go to e ER in fear of being treated as they have always been treated and they will die! Ask yourself can I live with that and could I have prevented that by treating each and every person with respect no matter what.
