Q: Guttate Psoriasis

I found out yesterday that I have Psoriasis.  I did a alittle reasearch of my own to figure out what type I have since the doc didn't specify and the one that most fits my symptoms is Guttate Psoriasis.  The reviews said it can appear out of nowhere, which mine did.  It also said that this is the rarest form of Psoriasis and is usually found in children and adults under 30.  A sigh of relief came when it said this type of skin disorder could disappear one day and never come back.  I must admit, I cried for a good couple of hours after my doc called me.  It really scared me and I did some research to help ease my mind.  I know it's not curable but does anyone have this type of Psoriasis and how do you deal with it from day to day?  Thanks so much, I do appreciate anything anyone has to say!

Hi Miss Candice: I was reading a review about a shampoo and guess what, a lady said that she has guttate psoriasis and that the shampoo helped her condition. I do not believe that but just in case the shampoo is Fekkai Glossing. Anyways, I always had "something" coming and going that I have never found out what it was until today when I was reading the review and decided to check GUTTATE PSORIASIS, yeap! I just realized that I have it too. I am freaking out and feeling really scare. I saw OGLY pictures on the internet but none are like mine. Mine is around my hairline and a little in the back of my neck next to the hair. How is yours?. I can tell yo that I went to dermatologist last year and he did not find this type on me he found another type of psoriasis that was on my scalp and was not red. I can also tell you that mine comes on goes BUT THIS WEEK, I have been having it super BAD! and I have been using TWO THINGS that HAVE WORKED WELL for the next day not to SHOW IT. Here are my two things, 1- Neosporin and 2- Sulfur8 original formula (both at CVS) this second one burns or itches a little but next day you will not show it!. I will schedule an appoitment with a dermatologist and will get back to you to see what he says. Now, Where do you have it?. It is really bad?. Are you between the ages 30 to 40?. hat medications are you using or taking?. Do you have other health problems like respiratory problems?. Sorry for all  these questions but maybe we can help out each other. I hope I helped you a little...

Thanks, supertriste!

I was diagnosed with plaque psoriasis after my first child (6yrs ago) and then got extremely sick after my second child was born (20mths) strep infection/mono, and then broke out with the guttate psoriasis. I was covered head to toe for about 5 months and was terribly depressed, and not having medical insurance my treatment was very limited.  Sunlight and the tanning bed even tho i am not a big fan of either helped alot!!!!! Changed my diet to eating healthier cutting out caffeine. i think both contributed alot and eventually i was completely cleared!!!! I am now dealing with my second outbreak, no sickness this time, but have researched that stress is a contributing factor to guttate breakouts. Again i am covered head to toe and completely miserable, im hoping that maybe a mild anxiety med will help with the depression and might help clear it up this time, i certainly dont want to spend the next 5 months dealing with this again.  Good luck to you!!!!!!
