Q: Do I have folliculitis?

I've had very small red bumps on my thighs and upper arms ever since I can remember. They do not bother me in any way. They don't itch or anything. Sometimes they have a dry white middle, but no pus or anything like that. Mostly they are just unattractive. I went to the dermatologist and she said they might be folliculitis, key word "might", but they look nothing like the pictures I've seen on the internet of folliculitis. Do these sound familliar to anyone? Just looking for a diagnosis so I can possibly get rid of them.

Certainly could be folliculitis and I would trust that a Dermatologist can even recognize variations on the typical picture, which is why your case might not match the pictures you've seen.

If it is folliculitis she should make some recommendations to you regarding shaving, clothing fiber types, possible relief treatments.  It can certainly recur and persist.
