Hi -

 

Thank you for your question! You should apply sunscreen to clean, dry skin to get the best effect. If the skin is wet or dirty (like from sand at the beach), the sunscreen won't be absorbed as well and you will get patchy coverage, resulting in a patchy burn or tan.
