She told me to go back in 3 months for follow up blood work and said it could still be a thyroid condition. I was told by my friend to take biotin. I always had a great thick head of hair, but I am getting very upset at the thinning. Its also dry. My Dr told me also to go see my dermatologist, which I will. My nails at one point actually got very thin and they peel at the end. I was told to use a protein nail base, which helps. I actually went to my Dr to see why the hair was thinning and more so to see why I always feel the heat. Now I am overweight and I am 56 so I am assuming thats due to menopause. It takes alot for me to go to Dr's and at this stage of my life I only use female Dr's. Can you help me with any of your thoughts or feedbacks, thank you........Roseann

I also have rosacea.

If you had your thyroid test (thyroid level, TSH) and it was low, then you'll need syntheroid.

If it was normal then diet (omega 3 fatty acids), biotin, and a general vitamin supplement is reasonable too.

Rogaine products for women - the shampoo and treatment might also be worthy, but you do need to commit to it pretty much forever - so that's a big financial consideration.
