Q: Does vinegar help soothe a sunburn?

My 10 year old daughter got a sever sunburn on her back.  She has some blisters on her shoulders.  I have put some aloe with a pain reliever added, which she said bruned worse for a while.  I put some burn relief cream on her also, after I put the cream on her back, she said she was seeing funny colors and when she went to walk, she blacked out and fell, and then she was immediately ok.  Just want to know the best way to treat her burn.

Hi there

If she is passing out from the pain...I do think you need to take her to see a doctor.

I just wrote an article about sunburns and sun poisoning you may want to read.

Here is our sunburn first aid guide.

There are some people who use apple cider vinegar on sunburns but I cannot say whether or not this works.  Other cures from the kitchen may include soaking tea bags in cool water and then applying them to the burn.

Most likely anything which touches her skin is going to hurt right now.

I hope she feels better soon.  Let us know how she is doing.
