Dear Martin, If you want to try treating your skin at home, there's really nothing over the counter (from a drugstore or department store) that will do more than moisturize your skin and make it a little smoother. Your best bet is Skinmedica TNS  skin therapy, which is available from dermatologists' and cosmetic surgeons' offices. It contains a high potency mixture of skin growth factors (known as Nouricel MD) which have been shown in scientifically controlled medical studies to produce significant skin rejuvenation.  The before and after photos from these studies (which used blinded evaluators to assess whether or not TNS improved skin) are pretty amazing for an at-home treatment. If you're interested in  treatments in a cosmetic surgeon's office,  Fraxel laser resurfacing is the best option. Fraxel lasers stimulate your skin to tighten by producing its own collagen. They also improve surface skin changes due to aging such as sunspots, prominent pores and fine lines. There is little or no down time, depending on which Fraxel laser you select.  You can visit www.Fraxel.com to find a cosmetic surgeon in your geographical region who has the lasers. Your cosmetic surgeon can also discuss other treatment options, such as chemical peels (I find Vitalize peels to give my patients the best results). Hope this helps! Dr. Hema
