usually daytime moisturizers contain sunscreen.  You can use the daytime moisturizer at night.  If a night time moisturizer is used during the day its effects will be diminished in the sunlight(it doesn't last as long, or protect your face in the sun.)

Most daytime moisturizers have a sunscreen in them to protect your skin during the day.  They can be used during the day or night.  The night time ones usually either have products that will be more effective while your skin is sleeping and not out in any elements, and do not contain any time of sun protection.
