Q: I'm of african american and I'm experience hair loss, I have bald spots in different area

I visit one derm she said that I have Discod Lupus the medicine that she prescribed didnt work and now I have several bald spots in my head and contiue to loss hair, I looked like a streetwith pot holes on it hair here and no hair there, bald spots have sores on them. I'm thinking about shaving all my hair off and going bald. I need to find out what's really going on with my scalp and what kind of treatment I need

You don't mention how that diagnosis was specifically made - another differential (alternative, possible) diagnosis could be alopecia or alopecia areata.  Read up on it - it can occur spontaneously and it has no specific known cause (many theories).  Dermatologists usually diagnose it - so I would make sure that is not what is going on.  It is not life threatening or dangerous.  It does, however, cause anguish to patients when the hair loss on the scalp becomes multiple and significant.

 

There are coored powders you can match to your hair color that can mask the scalp bald spots - beauty supply stores have it.  Going bald is another option if you can "make peace" with it.
