Q: Need advice on my facial skin care products

I use Renova 2%, Revision 15% and Pro-Heal serum Advanced. For the last week, I've been using the Pro-heal everyday after cleansing and toning and then alternating the Renova and Revision everyother day. Am I missing something or is this the correct useage. I'm 44, fair skinned, have dark hair, have recently had IPL, I have rosacea with acne, sun damage, and sensitive skin. I'm concerned that I am not using the products in the correct order or at the right time of the day. I've had some skin peeling around my lips and chin.

Hi there

I am assuming that you are under a dermatologist's care?  I think your best bet is to contact your doctor about the appropriate usage of these medications. Or you could even call the pharmacist about instructions.

In researching Renova I found this information from the National Institutes of Health:

Your acne probably will get worse (red, scaling skin and an increase in acne sores) during the first 7-10 days that you use this medication. Nevertheless, continue to use it; the acne sores should disappear. Usually 2-3 weeks (and sometimes more than 6 weeks) of regular use of tretinoin is required before improvement is seen.

You will want to ask your doctor about what side effects you may have before improvement is noticed.

Hope this helps some.  Thank you for your question.
