I know how you all feel.  I'm 21 from Wisconsin. It all started back in October when I found out I had lyme disease (noticed the trade-mark red ring on my leg where the tick had bit me several weeks before). Went to the doctor, got the antibiotics, took them and was cured.  A couple weeks later, however, I noticed that the red ring  was still there and it began to itch.  Tried cortizone cream...didn't really help.  So I itched and scratched and itched and scratched until it bled. Then shortly after my birthday in November is when my other leg also started to itch.  Soon it spread to my arms and thighs and stomach.  I had itchy little red bumps all over my body.  The more I scratched them, the worse they got (but as you all know, it's SO HARD NOT TO SCRATCH THEM!) And the itch became the most intense at night.   I went to the doctor again in November after my boyfriend suggested they were SCABIES. He had them a couple years back and knew what they looked like and how they felt.  The doctor said they looked like scabies and prescribed me Permethrin Cream.  I used the whole tube in 2 seperate applications,  2 weeks apart.  The bumps and rash started to go away, but the itch never left.  In January I went and got my refill of the Permethrin Cream and applied it again.  The itching went away for about 3 weeks and then returned again in February.  The bumps started to return on my legs.    Taking extremely hot showers makes it feel better, but also worse.  They itch INTENSELY when exposed to hot temperatures.  I scratch myself raw and bleed every time I take a shower.  I've tried all sorts of things to stop the itching: sulfer soap, neem soap, lavender soap, camomile, eucalyptus, neem lotion, cocoa butter lotion.  The only thing that helps a little is Aloe Vera.  It takes away the itch, but is short-lived. I am losing sleep over this problem and getting distracted at work.  I have done a little research of my own and found that it might be a STAPH INFECTION.   I am going to the doctor tomorrow to get some tests done and find out what this devil rash is!   I am glad I'm not in this boat alone. I will post more information after my doctor's appointment.  Good luck to all of you, and hang strong!
