whenever i got sunpoisoning. my pediatrician always saw it... i had third degree burns.  the cold and flu-like sensation went away in three days to a week. but i had to go ahead a leave my hotel vacation and come home. i lived in a cooler climate and treatment meant coming back home to a cooler climate. the pediatrician told me to use awful spray called FOILLE instead of solarcaine. and tylenol or motrin. the cold-like flu-ish feeling stayed around as long as i remained in that beach
