New research published in the British Journal of Dermatology has found that a laser therapy that delivers a concentrated beam of ultraviolet light may help treatment-resistant eczema. In the study, patients with the prurigo form of atopic dermatitis responded similarly to the laser therapy than they did to a standard topical treatment. But researchers say patients given the laser treatment tended to show longer lasting improvement.
