Healthy human skin crawling with bacteria: study

Scientists have discovered that healthy human skin is home to roughly 1,000 species of bacteria. The researchers also found that the bacteria have evolved to be able to exploit the unique attributes of the areas where they inhabit, from the dry areas of the forearm to the warm, moistness of the armpit. Scientists say the bacteria are not only harmless, but are probably essential to the proper functioning of the body.
