Wine may shield cancer patients from radiation side effects

Breast cancer patients undergoing radiation may be helped by drinking a glass of wine every day. That's because a recent study suggests it may cut the risk of treatment-related skin toxicity by two thirds. Scientists divided 348 patients into three groups and found that those who drank wine on the days they had their treatment had lower rates of toxicity than those who did not drink wine.
