Dr. Paul G. Donohue responds to a reader's question about whether a line of pain and swelling around the reader's abdomen could be an allergic reaction. Dr. Donohue suggests that it may be pressure urticaria--a form of hives caused by pressure on the skin--and suggests a combination of antihistamines and the prescription medicine Singulair to treat the problem.
