Study finds new psoriasis treatment tops competition

A recent study suggests that the biologic medication may ustekinumab reduce psoriasis symptoms better than Enbrel, and with fewer doses. The late-stage study of 900 patients found that ustekinumab reduced psoriasis patches in two thirds of the patients, while Enbrel appeared to reduce patches in half of the patients. Drugmaker Johnson & Johnson has applied for U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for ustekinumab and report that they expect a decision on the medication this year.  Read full story >
