Sun may cause rash in autoimmune disease patients

Women who have developed the autoimmune disease myositis and who live in areas with high UV sun exposure are more likely to develop a form of the disease known as dermatomyositis, researchers say. This type of the condition weakens the muscles and causes distinctive rashes. This is the first study to confirm the link between UV levels and the frequency of dermatomyositis in patients.  Read full story >
