UpAtNight

By mamastokes Thursday, April 16, 2009

I am on prescription medicine for my insomnia and using a CPAP at night.  I have had my prescription dosage changed from 50mg to 100mg as needed.  Some nights I have to take the 100mg tabs just to fall asleep.  The only thing I don't like about the pills is that I can open my door if someone knocks and go back to bed without realizing what I had just done.  That is why I have a dog with me all the time.  He will wake me up by barking so I am for sure woke enough to realize what is going on.

Hello, I truly understand your situation. I was given Klonopin (panic attacks age29) and thru the use of these, my sleep suffered.I am now 56 yrs old and am on 2-2mg Klonopin, restoril, 1000mg tryptophan and 3 mg melatonine. That is only to make me go to sleep. The longest I have slept is 4 (coma) hours and then I'm fully awake at 2 am. I have thought it could be hormones, weight, anything that could cause this, but to no avail. Insomnia is horrid and I read that it is also a sign of premature death. I believe it! Someone out here MUST HAVE an ANSWER for us or where we might go for help. Unfortunantly for me, I have lost my insurance coverage and health care is gauged by dollars. I have a few saved and willing to pay for treatment if I could find where to get it. Thanks for listening and I hope you found your healing. L
