Just sayin hi.  I am a chronic insomniac.  I can't even remember a time when I was not.  When I could fall asleep quickly or at all and say asleep.  No, from childhood and on I was always the last one asleep.  I wake up in the night many times.  That all comes hand in hand with Fibromyalgia.  Nothing new.  I used to get bad sleep paralysis, and still do, but now they have more lucid nightmares with them.  I snore, recently I might add, cause recently got diagnosed with asthma.  I also make a lot of noises like 'hey' and 'huh' loudly for no reason.  I kick around when I am sleeping.  While falling asleep my shoulder, neck, jaw, leg and hip muscles jerk and spasm, waking me up.  I have been so tired I am falling aleep during the day, and that muscle jerking thing helps me out there.

Hello Myth1977 and thanks for posting.  Welcome to our community.

The first and most important thing you can do is to speak to a doctor about your sleep issues.  Maybe you have alreayd done this, I'm not certain from your post.  But if you have not, a doctor should be able to rule out what is not causing your insomnia, and zero in on what could be causing it.  Everything from diet and exercise to environment (heat/cold, light/dark) to stress.

In the meantime, check out some of our materials on insomnia.
