narcolepsy and me too..
Tyler
Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 09:25 AMI was also born with narcolepsy. I starting showing majorly in third grade. Through out my school year up untill 8 th grade everyone thought I was abused, lived in a drug house, or had drug problems of my own. So I was treated like a no good punk who didn't want to learn (pretty sad huh). In 7th grade after only two months of being in school all my teachers decided that I should be givin a one-on-one. SO the first time in my life i got almost straight A's. I switched schools after that year and was not given a touter. Finally one day one of my teachers say's 2me you have narcolepsy. I sad no i don't not knowing what he was talking about. He said u change classes every 70 minutes and as soon as you sit down in every class but gym u fall asleep. soon after I was given a sleep test and was put on provigile. I am now 24 and still am on provigle and vivactil becasue I also have cateplexse (which is a siezure like affect that happens during any kind emotion or excitment). I would have to say the narcelapse isn't so bad but the cateplexse is the worst and I hate. I have really bad cateplexse i think from what I read about cateplexse my is ten times worse. but thats me and my fun narcoleptic life how about yours. Oh I try to have a postive aittude about my disorder by like making fun of my self with friends and stuff I think it helps me cop with and helps friends understand it more because we talk about it.
