Monday, June 23, 2008 at 10:11 AMSometimes, when trying to fall asleep, I have the feeling that my eyes are moving about rapidly under closed lids, and the sensation is just sufficiently uncomfortable to prevent me from falling asleep , I also experience this as a matter of fact i did last night. While I'm doing this i get mixed or botached images much like a dream not making sense , jumping from one random image to another . Does this how to anyone else ?

Sometimes REM sleep intrudes onto wakefulness. This is common in narcolepsy, but can also occur in people without sleep disorders.
REM occurring as a person is falling asleep can be experienced as hallucinations or sleep paralysis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis )
