Sleeping By the Light of the Moon

By Florence Cardinal, Health Guide Friday, June 08, 2007
Who hasn't been awed by the beauty of a full moon flooding over the horizon? Folklore tells us that animals and criminals go wild during full moons, that werewolves make their transformation during the full moon - it's the time when Wiccans hold their monthly ritual, called the Esbat. ...

i don't think the question was really answered: Does the moon affect humans.

There was a tentative yes, but no specific examples were given as to how and why it affects us.

thank you

Hi

dated 9/16/09 I agree with previous comment, there was only a list of related references nothing at all providing any answers. I know, I can NOT sleep until abou4 a.m. in the morning regardless when or how I go to bed when there is a full moon, my mind is overwrought, I think, I plan, I mentally write stories, I make elaborate menues, I fantasize, I make lists (of books, of old German songs I knew) I concentrate on muscle relaxation, I do drink cold milk, or I do have a light snack or not, counting etc. nothing nothing works, my mind will not let me sleep.
Also usually one night before the full moon I have some troubles, but not as severe. I am 61 yearls old and never have sleep disorders at any other time. I had this problem since young adulthood, and probably also as child, allthough I remember at times having these restless, mind active nights, back than it was not connected to a full moon.

My husband says,I react because the water in my body responds like a tide to the moon, however only to the full moon not every 6 hours or whatever the tide is.

This problem is of course nothing like the myth of menstrual and moon cycles.

I believe this affliction is hereditery, or occurs often in same family members.

It is important to completely block the moonlight this helps perhaps or perhaps having sex, but all other recommendation to promote sleep do not work for me at any time of the full moon.
