You and Your Mattress

I'm not saying that the right bed and mattress bed will cure your insomnia or sleep apnea or sleep paralysis, but a bed or mattress that's uncomfortable or unsuited to your needs will add to sleep problems.   What's your bed like? Is it starting to look a bit the worse for wear? Does it sag in...

Great information, Florence. Like you've said, the right bed and mattress certainly may not cure insomnia, but it just might help.

One night last week I fell asleep with my 5-year-old son in his bed after reading bedtime stories. I usually snooze with him for a few minutes, then get up and go to my own bed. This night, however, I slept next to him all night - and felt better than ever in the morning. Even though his bed used to be my old bed, it seemed to still agree with me more than my new bed does lately. Go figure. Here's my excuse to snuggle in with him more often!

Thanks again, Florence.   - M

The mattress you are using could be inducing your sleep disorder. Many people now suffer from lower and upper back pain. For upper back pain, a firmer mattress might be able to solve the problem. This mattress supports the upper back better. People with lower back pain might like mattresses with at least 4 pounds of density. This is better when it comes to providing better lower back comfort.
