Thanks for your post Florence.  My two cents:  Yes this should be used as a defense.  Other disorders are used and to me we should not limit citizens from using this. One of the points to our judicial system is to be judged by a jury of our peers.  It is up to all of us, when called to jury, to make that fair and just.
