    You didn't list some of the more pernicious electronic addictions, like Twitter, Facebook, Freecell and online games. Then there's gambling, sex, gossip, shopping ... Oh my, there are as many addictions as there are human beings. But seriously, these non-consumable addictions are destructive to relationships, personal productivity, all sorts of ways beyond the physical detriments of lowered activity levels and perhaps heightened blood pressure.

     

    Any thoughts on these?

    Oh, I agree the addictions you mention can be just as devastating as alcohol, smoking, etc. But research hasn't been done on them in regards to sleep like what has been done on the ones I mentioned. Besides, if I went into the problems of all these addictions, it would take a book, far more words than Health Central could condone.
