I need true advice on sleep paralysis,Cataplexy, etc. When my grand-daughter started having these attacks, the dallas doctors, subscribed Diastat Rectal Gel to stop seizures. I use it when she has one of these attacks, if I weren't so scared and freaked out about it all, I might should wait about using it, and see if she would pull out of the attack without the Diastat. One of these attacks went on for an hour and fifteen minutes with Diastat. They sedated her for the care flight to Dallas and she woke up mid flight crying for me. I got to Dallas ER, nd there she sat in the middle of the floor playing. Her breathing is so labored during these attacks, I'm afraid not to give her the Diastat as soon as I realize what's happening.Somebody please advise me on all this.

Thank you for your SharePost. Your situation is a complicated and sensitive one. I suggest you send your questions to Sleep Disorder Specialist Dr. Allen Blaivas (http://www.healthcentral.com/sleep-disorders/c/68/profiles/), who may be able to advise you on the best steps to take in your position. Best of luck.
