RBD  sounds interesting.  What if the person, in this case a child of 9 yrs. is somewhat awake or walking about and talking, -Is that related to RBD?

I believe that sleep walking is part of RBD and the fact is that the child doesn't even know he is doing it...in his dream he might be walking up a hill, a street or other place and talking to the people in his dreams until he hurts himself and then he is awakened..I only talk thru my experiences as I have RBD.

I have a 16 y/o with violent dreams always of spiders and snakes that he acts out.  Screaming,  running, jumping,  he brings us into his dreams and trys to protect us,  Sometimes actually jumping on us or grabing us trying to get us out of harms way.  He has never had a espisode with a spider or snake to cause this and have been having them since about age 2.  What is he having?

It might be a good idea if you go to the doctor and he does a sleep study as they did with me to determine if he has RBD where he is actually having a vivid dream meaning that while he is dreaming he is acting out his dream in real life.

Dear Allen,

I'm currently working on a short film: documenting and exploring Rem Behavior Disorder.  I was wondering if you would be interested in being part of this projet.  I will like to do an interview and go a little further into the sudject.  A man who suffered from RBD do to a very traumatic experiance in his chilhood, had a mental brakedown, and as a result was given shock therapy treatmets that led to his suicide in the late 70's-and that was the inspiration for the project.  Hope to hear back from you: santoscortesatyahoodotcom.

Thank you for your time,

Santos.

Patient with night terrors and falling out of bed with no recollection of the event.  History of striking spouse while asleep with no forwarning of acting out his vivid dreams until after the event.  Now sleeping in separate bedrooms  only partially controlled with clonazepam 0.5mg  Should the doseage be increased or other sleep medictions tried for chronic insomnia?

Oh boy you truly described me but the fact that I refuse to take any narcotics and want to stop having these vivid dreams without narcotics doing some more research as ther has to be something natural I can take...you are partially cured with the narcotic, if you need more ask your doctor who intially prescribed it because that is the slow dose they start you with...it is what I was prescribed except mine was klonopin .05 which I haven't filledas I am very afraid of the addiction.

I was diagnosed having RBD and although I keep having recurring vivid dreams where I've hurt myself and have gotten black and blues, Idon't feel comfortable taking any narcodics..Is there any other way that this can be cured without having to take them?? can it be a hormonal imbalance?
