Thanks so much for your post Doctor.  I thought I'd add the links to a couple of your references - just to make it a bit eaiser for community members to get to the places you detail in this post.

The first is the disclaimer you mention from your last blog.  As always, we encourage members to consult with their own physician while we help to inform and educate.

And secondly you refer to  your previous blog on REM - Behavior Disorder.

Hope this helps folks - All the best, sue (moderator)

I am a 58 year old male, in excellent health, a daily exerciser (aerobobics classes, running, and/or weight lifting), I eat a well-balanced diet (lots of fruits, vegetables, no red meat), have a great marriage, enjoy the heck out of life.  My only health issue is that I can not get a good night's sleep-ever. Three-four hours is about what I get, and it's just not enough.  I often feel tired.  I have read everything I can about insomnia, and tried it all.  I thought when I retired two years ago that I would start sleeping well again, but no luck. I have talked to my Dr. about it, he has prescribed vitiamin D, that didn't help.  I have tried Rx sleep aids, and I hate them-the groggy feeling is simply not worth it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Greg in Oregon
